Berets make such cute accessories, don't they? My Garden Party Girl dolls love wearing them - it makes them feel chic!
This felt hat is super simple to sew. I'm sharing the instructions here so you can make a beret for your own doll.
Note: Measure your doll's head circumference and use that as a guide. My Garden Party Girl doll heads measure approximately 10" around so my beret's diameter is 5", or half the circumference of her head.
DIY doll beret:
1. Cut two 5" circles from felt.
2. Cut a 3" center hole out of one of the circles, leaving a 2" border all around.
3. Lay the cut circle on top of the uncut felt circle and sew together along the outer edge. Turn your beret right side out and shape with your fingers.
Stretch opening slightly, if needed, to fit your doll's head and place it at a jaunty angle. Your doll will look adorable!
You can use any type of felt for the doll beret. Its fun to make them in a variety of colors so your doll has lots of options. I hope you'll try this easy doll hat project and let me know how it turns out!
