Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow Myrtle decided it was time for a "Pretty in Pink" tea party. What is that, you ask? Its a doll tea party where everyone wears as much pink as possible! As soon as the invitations hit their mailbox, Myrtle's friends rushed to shop at Pink Ginger Kitty for pink coats and hats.
Andrea, Birdie, Jemma and Myrtle are wearing many shades of pink in these portrait shots. From their hats and coats to the felt valentine necklaces (Jemma forgot to put hers on), they celebrate the cheerfulness of pink. Is there any better color for chasing away the blues?
The dolls enjoy a bowl of sweetheart candies with their tea. The festive pink honeycomb balls adorning the floor are from Oh Happy Day.
What might you serve at a "Pretty In Pink" tea party? How about rose buttercream and chocolate cupcakes with hibiscus tea? There are many pink foods that could be added such as strawberries and cream, raspberry scones, pomegranate goat cheese on crackers, and pink lemonade. Go ahead and get carried away with your theme - its fun!
Today I would like to offer heartfelt thanks to my fans and customers for your support in 2016.
It has been my pleasure to create whimsical handmade toys and accessories for you. I sewed over 150 items last year equaling 45 dolls and softies plus numerous doll accessories such as hats, coats and shawls. New toys and accessories are in the works for 2017 and I plan to introduce toy and doll clothing patterns for those who like sewing things yourself.
Here's to a fabulous and prosperous 2017 for all of us!
P.S. This month I'm offering a free felt flower necklace with any Sweet Friend doll purchase from my shop. You can request custom shades or allow me to make one that contrasts with your doll's hair. Pop in to PinkGingerKitty and take a look!
My shop and I will be back later this week with new toys and posts. If you came here looking for color to ward off the winter blues, have a look at my ColorStories Pinterest board. Its where I stash color inspiration from around the world to get me through gloomy days.
Merry Christmas to you and a very Happy New Year too!
My shop is closed this week while I take a vacation from online connections to enjoy time with my family. My 83-year-old Dad is getting married to his longtime sweetheart on New Year's Eve. I'll be there with my sister and lots of friends to cheer them on.

My dolls and accessories are made by hand from my own patterns, resulting in unique toys with a happy and colorful personality. They are sturdily made from new and up cycled materials in Boulder, Colorado. Each toy takes about 6 hours to make, a true labor of love. I enjoy imagining these little dolls snuggling with their new owners at bedtime, keeping secrets and taking part in dolly tea parties. I hope they delight people wherever they go in the world.
It is Thanksgiving day here in America and I would like to thank you, my blog readers and customers, for the joy you've given me this year. I am grateful for your friendship, comments and sales. I wish you all the best in life!
