Berets are such cute accessories, aren't they? The Garden Party Girl dolls love wearing them - it makes them feel chic! Because of this I've added a free matching beret to the bell-sleeved coats in my doll clothing line. The set makes a charming update for your doll's spring wardrobe.
This felt hat is super simple to make. I'm sharing the instructions here for those who want to make berets for their own dolls.
Note: Measure your doll's head circumference and use that as a guide. My Garden Party Girl doll heads measure roughly 10" around so I used 5" as my beret's diameter.
DIY doll beret:
1. Cut two 5" circles from felt.
2. Cut a 3" center hole out of one of the circles, leaving a 2" border all around.
3. Lay the cut circle on top of the uncut felt circle and sew together along the outer edge. Turn your beret right side out and shape with your fingers.
Stretch opening slightly, if needed, to fit your doll's head and place it at a jaunty angle. Your doll will look adorable!
I hope you'll try this easy doll hat project. Let me know how it turns out!
