The March meeting of the Dolls Newcomer Club went very well thanks to the creative efforts of dolls Maira, Penelope and Birdie. They modeled new spring jackets from PinkGingerKitty while suggesting ideas for the club's spring activities. Chocolate mint cupcakes and raspberry tea made the whole affair extra festive.
Maira suggested making a batch of spring cards to give to the residents at a local senior living home. She brought in her collection of vintage floral cards as inspiration. Maira wore an aqua coat and hat set from the PinkGingerKitty shop.
Penelope suggested having a bake-off of classic cakes. Club members who wished to compete would enter a classic cake made from scratch. Everyone would be welcome to taste the cakes and cast a vote for the winner. Penelope modeled a soft green jacket and hat set from PinkGingerKitty.
Birdie loves romantic roses and offered to share her tips about planting the bare root roses which will soon be in local nurseries. Birdie wore a pretty pink plaid coat and hat available at PinkGingerKitty.
The sweet doll-sized bunting used at the meeting was sewn by Jemma and Maira.
To make a similar bunting for your dolls, cut 2 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" long triangles (6.35 cm x 8.89 cm) from scrap fabric. Sew the flags to the back of a length of pompom trim using coordinating thread. Leave 5" (13 cm) of trim at both ends for hanging up your bunting. Attach the bunting to the wall with washi tape. The doll bunting in my photos has 8 flags each, sewn to 36" (91 cm) of pompom trim. I cut the pompoms off the ends of the trim beyond the flags for hanging.
The dolls and doll clothing pictured here are available at PinkGingerKitty on Etsy.
Enjoy your weekend!
