Here's what's inspiring me today: Dahlias! They come in so many beautiful colors and shapes that its easy to find ones to love.
These are from a local Colorado grower who sells them through Whole Foods Market. I love how they start out with tight geometric petals that gradually soften into big blowzy petals. The finished blooms look like feathered hats from the 1950's!
These peachy pink beauties give me a jolt of pleasure every time I see them. I'm loving peach, orange and pink colors right now, especially in combination. These tones look amazing with magenta and purple.
Today my Sweet Friend doll "Emerald" heads to Denver to meet her new best friend. She wears a bonus straw hat that I found on a recent thrift shop foray. I hope Emerald will make her new owner very happy.
The lovely rose-decorated teapot next to her was also a recent thrift shop find. I'm looking forward to using it for tea as well as photo shoots.
