Spring is slow to arrive in Colorado. In March we get teased by a few warm days and daffodils only to be slammed with snow and rain. While we wait for spring to deck herself out with blossoms I got busy with felt and silk flowers and created more spring accessories for my Garden Party Girls. These hats and jackets are available in my shop, ready to update your favorite doll for spring.
Before last week's big snowstorm I visited the Prospect neighborhood of Longmont for color inspiration. Prospect is known for its eclectic houses which I find inspiring even without spring flowers in the gardens. They are a mix of styles ranging from traditional and cottage to modern and industrial. Here is a taste of the architectural variety found in Prospect:
I was drawn to angles against sky so most of my shots are of homes with a mid-century feel. It almost looks like spring in these photos, but then came the big snowstorm. We got 25" of snow here in Boulder last week.
This looks like winter but sunshine this week should melt a lot of this away.
With warmer temperatures starting today all that snow should melt into the soil and jump start the spring blossoms. I'm ready for it, aren't you?
