With all the sewing I've been doing lately I've made a mound of fabric scraps that are too pretty to toss. After finding Noodlehead's zippered pouch tutorial on Pinterest, I turned my scraps into pretty utility bags. Since I wanted to use my stash of thrift store zippers I adapted the design a little to work with the zipper lengths I had. In the tutorial the zipper pull extends off the bag - I want to try that next.
The purple floral pouch is made from new fabrics from JoAnn's Craft store. It was the first bag I made following the step-by-step tutorial. The flat turquoise bag uses left over patchwork from the bunny that Dana won in my giveaway (named Sophia by her daughter).
I added a wood bead pull to the lime green zipper on the purple floral bag. I love how the bright green zipper contrasts with the purple interior fabric.
Its easy to turn pretty scraps into a charming bag! On this piece I backed the light weight patched pieces with interfacing so the strip would be sturdy enough to work with the teal linen.
