Early Bird sign from Nest
With the lengthening days I can feel myself unfurling, easing out of that hunched-against-the-cold tension I live with in winter. Although we have weeks to go before true warm weather, I'm feeling the need to stretch outward with new projects, diversions and goals.
Here's a list of my spring intentions:
"Looking Forward To" Sightings
Plum, cherry and crabapple blossoms
Daffodils, tulips, iris and lilacs
New neighbors: baby finches, robins, bunnies, foxes, deer
Pastel sky and cotton candy clouds
Garage sales and flea markets
Rushing streams, violets, dragonflies
Tulips blooming along the Pearl Street Mall (an annual extravaganza)
Painting: a bench, spring baskets, and maybe the family room?
Sewing: spring napkins, bunting, valance for my studio, a craft apron
Mowing the lawn for the first time (love that fresh mowed scent!)
Spring cleaning and spruce up
Assemble Easter baskets!
Gardening - plant a redbud tree in our back garden
Re-cover the kitchen chairs
Farmer's market (starts April 2 here in Boulder)
Pea sprouts, Easter egg radishes, micro greens, asparagus, artichokes - yum!
Make the Arugula, Asparagus Salmon Salad with blackberries (Best of Clean Eating cookbook)
Grow herbs - rosemary, basil, thyme, peppermint, lemon verbena
Breakfast for dinner - why not try an omelette or quiche on a rainy night?
Make lotus "chips" if I can find fresh lotus root
Try grilling haloumi cheese for salads
Just for Fun
Lunch with friends al fresco
Create a spring playlist on my iPod
Explore: hiking, bird and flower spotting with my camera handy
Take a painting class at Lifelong Learning, Boulder's adult education classes
Relax in the sunshine with a library book
Paint a landscape
Breathe deeply in the fresh spring air
Do you have spring projects and plans? What are you looking forward to?
